A defined path from the first call to the day your team runs it without us.
Every step ends with something you keep, and you can stop after any of them. Here is what each one delivers and what we need from you.
Step 01 of 05
Discovery call
What happens
A conversation with the lead who would do the work. We learn how the business runs, where the time and margin go, and where AI could pay off. If we are not the right fit, we say so on the call.
- What you get
- At least one useful observation, whether or not we work together
- How long it takes
- 45 minutes, free
- What we need from you
- Someone who knows how the business runs
Step 02 of 05
Discovery project
What happens
We review your operations, data, and systems with the people who run them. We size each opportunity by what it would return and what it would take to build. Then we draft your first Quarter Plan and set the monthly fee in writing.
- What you get
- A sized list of opportunities and a draft Quarter Plan, yours to keep
- How long it takes
- One to two weeks, fixed fee
- What we need from you
- Time with your leads and read access to the key systems
Step 03 of 05
First quarter
What happens
We join your team and work to the plan. Systems go into production as the plan calls for them, starting in the first month. We review the scorecard with leadership every month and change the plan in writing when the business changes.
- What you get
- Working systems, a monthly scorecard, and a plan for the next quarter
- How long it takes
- Three months, billed monthly
- What we need from you
- A sponsor, a point person, and the access you would give a senior hire
Step 04 of 05
Second term
What happens
Optional. We scale what worked in the first quarter and move each system to the people who will own it. The plan for this term ends with your team running everything.
- What you get
- Systems extended, and a team ready to run them
- How long it takes
- Up to three months, optional
- What we need from you
- The people who will own each system after handover
Step 05 of 05
Handover
[ You own what we build. ]
What happens
Your team takes over. Code, data, documentation, and accounts are already in your name, so handover is training and a final review. Light support stays available if you want it.
- What you get
- Systems your team runs, documented and tested
- How long it takes
- Yours to run
- What we need from you
- Time for your team to train on each system
One short document sets the quarter.
Leadership signs the Quarter Plan before the quarter starts. It fits on a few pages, and every change to it happens in writing.
Deliverables.
The systems, documents, and training we will ship, month by month.
Success measures.
The numbers we aim to move and how we will measure them, agreed before work starts.
The monthly review.
A scorecard meeting with leadership. What shipped, what moved, and what changes next month.
Access we need.
The systems, data, and people the plan depends on, listed up front so nothing stalls mid-quarter.
Who owns what.
Your sponsor, your point person, and the person on your team who takes over each system.
Service standards, in writing.
A standing weekly working session.
The same slot every week, with the people doing the work.
A monthly scorecard review.
Progress against the Quarter Plan, reviewed with leadership.
Replies within one business day.
Every question gets an answer by the next business day.
A seat where AI decisions get made.
We join the leadership meeting you choose.
An executive sponsor, one point person, and the access you would give a senior hire.
The sponsor sets priorities and signs the Quarter Plan. The point person keeps the work moving day to day. Access means the systems, data, and meetings the plan depends on, from the first week.
You own everything
we build.
Code, data, documentation, and accounts sit in your name from the first day. Nothing we build needs our permission to keep running. When the engagement ends, the systems stay.
- Source code in your repository, under your accounts
- Documentation written for the people who will run it
- Training for your team before we step back
Renewal and exit
Near the end of the first quarter, we review the scorecard together and decide on a second term. A second term runs up to three months. Its job is to scale what worked and prepare your team to run it.
Handover includes the documentation, a walkthrough of every system, and training for the people who will own them. After that, light support is available if you want it. Most clients reach handover in three to six months.
What owners and CFOs ask before signing
[01]Do you bill by the hour?
No. You pay a monthly fee for the role, and the Quarter Plan defines what we deliver. We do not track or sell hours.
[02]How is this different from a consultant?
A consultant hands you recommendations. We own the plan and build the systems as part of your team.
[03]How is this different from a full-time hire?
You get senior strategy and engineering in one role. The term is defined, and the cost is a fraction of a full-time executive.
[04]Is this the same as a fractional Chief AI Officer?
Clients often call the role a fractional Chief AI Officer. We cover that seat and the engineering behind it, so the person who sets the AI strategy also builds the systems.
[05]How long do engagements last?
Three months to start, with an option to extend. Most clients reach handover in three to six months.
[06]What happens when it ends?
Your team runs the systems. You keep all code, data, and documentation. Light support stays available if you want it.
[07]What does it cost?
It depends on the size of the business and the scope of the role. The discovery project has a fixed fee. We set the monthly fee in writing before the first quarter starts.
[08]What access do you need?
An executive sponsor, one point person, and the access you would give a senior hire. That means leadership meetings and the relevant systems and data.
[09]Do we need clean data or a tech team?
No. Getting the data in order is often part of the first quarter.
[10]What size businesses do you work with?
Mostly owner-led and PE-backed businesses between $2M and $25M in revenue.
